About the National Interprofessional Office for Milk (ONIL)

The National Interprofessional Office for Milk and Dairy Products (ONIL) is a public industrial and commercial institution under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Since its establishment, ONIL has played a strategic role in ensuring national food security and supporting the development of Algeria’s dairy sector.

ONIL’s mandate covers the entire dairy value chain, including:

  • Collection of raw milk from local producers

  • Support for local development and national production

  • Quality control and laboratory analysis

  • Management of the national strategic stock of milk powder

  • Coordination with production and processing centers

  • Technical and operational support for professionals

The Office operates through a network of regional directorates and distribution units that ensure nationwide coverage.
